First Solution: Remove and add your Microsoft account

Sometimes removing and adding back your Microsoft account might solve the password error
The steps are as follows:-

  1. Go to Start and click on Settings.
  2. Then select the Accounts option.
  3. On the left side, opt for Email & accounts
  4. Emails and Account

  5. In the Accounts column used by other apps section, select the Account.
    Now select the Remove button.
  6. Now you can restart your computer device to bring changes to your account settings. Then head back to the Emails & account section and add your Microsoft account.
Second Solution: Create a new Outlook profile

Due to a corrupt old profile, MS Outlook sometimes shows the issue of continuously asking for passwords. Making a new profile may solve this problem. To make a new Outlook profile, follow the steps mentioned below

  1. Go to Start and select the Control Panel.
  2. Then click on the Mail option.

  4. Now click on Show Profiles.

  6. Click Add. Then enter the name of the new profile and then choose ok. Add details like email address. Click the Next option and then Apply.

Third Solution: Disable antivirus & add app exclusions

Antivirus software also can disturb Outlook and may cause the password prompt problem. So, disable the antivirus on your system and see if this resolves the issue.

Fourth Solution: Disable Outlook add-ins
